This year’s Webflow Conf introduced a new era of innovation for our global community.
To better connect with the designers, developers, and marketers at this year’s event, we had the pleasure of bringing 30+ content sessions and plenty of fun to attendees joining virtually, in San Francisco, in London, and at the 55 World Wide Webflow watch parties happening all over the world.
This year’s programming previewed a slate of new exciting Webflow features and solutions, featured speakers from brands like Microsoft, Greenhouse, Docusign, and Vanta, and included practical insights from agency leaders at 8020, Zabal Media, OFF+BRAND, and more.
The live music, after parties, and our new acquisition announcement were pretty fun, too.
To relive all the fun one more time — or if you missed all the action over the past few weeks — here’s a quick recap of all the major highlights of Webflow Conf 2024.
What we announced
Our team has been hard at work over the last year to bring so many amazing new features to market for our customer base. During the keynote, members of our leadership and product teams introduced Webflow as the world’s first Website Experience Platform and announced a slate of new solutions and capabilities to help teams build, manage, analyze, and optimize websites, including:
- Webflow Analyze and Optimize, two new tools directly in Webflow that unlock insights and enable experimentation
- New AI-powered tools to boost speed without sacrificing creativity
- Design Systems and improvements to our visual-first CMS
- An updated way to navigate Webflow for improved productivity and collaboration.
- Page building, which is now available to all customers
- Design approvals with improved visibility and fine-tuning
- Client payments, improved Site Transfers, Project fees, and more exciting updates for Agencies and Freelancers
With these new powerful solutions and updates, you’ll be able to elevate your Webflow projects and build websites that are powerful, conversion-driving, and delightful to users. To learn more about everything we announced, read our in-depth keynote recap.
GSAP acquisition
We were also extremely excited to announce the acquisition of the GreenSock business, the company behind GreenSock Animation Platform (GSAP), the industry standard JavaScript animation library that allows designers and developers to craft high-performance and beautiful animations.
GSAP has become an industry standard and is the power behind animations on millions of websites — especially award-winning ones. You can use it to animate practically anything on the web with just a bit of JavaScript, and soon, the power and flexibility of the API will be available to our users natively, within Webflow.
Session highlights from the conference
The unexpected gateway to full stack development with Webflow, presented by Web Bae
Keegan “Web Bae” Leary knows firsthand how Webflow can serve as a unique entry point into full stack development. During his session, he covered his own journey to Webflow development, explained how Webflow bridges the gap between frontend and backend development, and shared how users can leverage different features and capabilities to strengthen their development skills to unlock new opportunities.
Known as an inspiring member of the Webflow community, he shared how incremental improvement is part of his career growth and challenged attendees to adopt his belief in regularly stepping out of his comfort zone: “The way I learn is by taking on projects that feel a little bit scary.”
From bedridden to billboards: How Webflow shaped my career, presented by Breeona Nechole Designs
In an moving presentation, Breeona Nechole shared her journey as a Black disabled woman, offering a compelling, first-hand look at how adversity can fuel opportunity. Her personal story and the practical strategies she shared for building an authentic, impactful brand captivated the audience. Her session went beyond a story about personal branding — it was an inspirational reminder of how turning personal narratives into purposeful impact can be a powerful force for change.
Lessons in digital transformation from a tech leader, presented by Wiley
Brendan Gualdoni, Head of Digital Commerce Platforms at Wiley, sat down for a fireside chat with Webflow’s Director Sales, East, Simran Duggal, to discuss strategies for helping marketing teams keep up with today’s fast-paced macro-environment. They chatted about the benefits of migrating from a DXP, how teams can leverage technology to future proof the website, and how in-house teams can stand up processes for greater collaboration. And looking ahead, Brendan shared his excitement for how AI, personalization, and data will transform how the Wiley team builds for the web.
The 2024 Webflow Awards
This year’s awards included 12 different recognitions across three categories: Community, Customer, and Partner.
Our winners roster included all-star community members like Isabel Edwards and Benten Woodring, as well as the teams at Walker & Dunlop, SpotOn, and Social Driver. It was a true celebration of the amazing designers, developers, and marketers who use Webflow every day to build truly powerful website experiences and contribute to our incredible and ever-growing Webflow community.
And to make this year’s awards extra special, we surprised our winners by putting their names up in lights — literally. All of our winners were celebrated in Times Square, where we had a billboard displaying their achievements all week long.
