Restructuring for our future
Hi everyone. I have important news to share with you today. As we look towards the future, I’ve made the decision to restructure Webflow to best position us for our next phase of growth – an outcome that will require focus, speed, and rebalancing where and how we invest. While this change is necessary, it comes with the difficult news that we’re making changes to our team. As a result, approximately 8% of our team members won’t be moving forward with us.
I recognize this is a lot to take in, and I’m committed to transparency as we work through this moment of change.
To be clear: our business is healthy and our financials are strong. This decision is about sharpening our focus to accelerate delivery in pursuit of our mission. As you’ve heard me say many times in the last few months, we’re entering a new phase at Webflow that will require us to operate differently.
Today will be challenging as we implement these changes – changes that have a very real human impact on our friends and colleagues – and I want to provide clarity as quickly as possible:
- Team members whose roles are impacted will receive calendar invites shortly to meet with your leaders about what’s next, and support will continue to be available to you as questions arise over the coming weeks.
- Departing US-based team members will be provided a comprehensive separation package that includes 16 weeks of both severance pay and COBRA continuation, while departing team members outside the US will be offered similar packages tailored to regional legal requirements.
- We’ll also provide continued benefits and resources to aid in career transitions, and departing employees can keep their company-issued laptops.
This is an inflection point for Webflow: we’re at the start of a more focused path toward our mission of delivering development superpowers to everyone. I’m personally grateful to everyone who has contributed to the foundation upon which we stand, and to those who will build our next chapter.
To those departing Webflow today: Thank you for your contributions and for helping shape Webflow into what it is today. We’re grateful for all you’ve invested into this company and our mission.
To everyone moving forward as part of this team: It’s hard to see friends and colleagues depart, and it’s important to give yourself time to process these changes. Tomorrow, I’ll host a brief company-wide meeting to recap today’s events and prepare us to move forward together. Maintaining open communication is vital as we forge ahead.
Thank you for showing up for Webflow and for each other.
